An exciting part of my new role of Director – Digtal Experience with Experience Marketing company George P. Johnson, has been hitting the road and explaining the power of bringing together physical and online experiences, an approach we call OnLIVE. I’ve had a couple of speaking engagements so far:
- Explaining online events to event marketers at the Virtual Edge Conference in California
- Delivering a masterclass on Virtual Events in London
I typically start with explaining
- What is behind the current drive to virtual events
- Explain what they are
- How they can be used etc.
This is typically where people’s current thinking is, and the exciting bit for me comes expanding their thinking beyond online or live “events” to integrating online and physical experiences to create something new that has not been possible before.
It’s also fun to envision them up with some of the technologies that are coming up fast that will change our notions of what even is physical and online, such as Augmented Reality (see some of my recent posts on this blog – how about a virtual pet running around your feet!).
